Rights Respecting Week 2019

We have looked at different rights across the school curriculum.

Children have taken part in engaging and exciting lessons that allow them to deepen their understanding of their own and others’ rights.

This year we have focused on how children can be the change for their future and taking their rights beyond the classroom.

Years 1 and 2 deepened their understanding of our Gold Rights and celebrated the 30th birthday of the UNCRC.

Year 3 created badges to raise awareness of the core messages of anti-bullying week.

Year 4 took part in the Outright campaign, learning about the need to support other countries around the world to vaccinate children.

Year 5 wrote their own speeches on climate change inspired by Greta Thunberg.

Year 6 children learned about the problem of child labour around the world today and wrote persuasive letters to António Guterres, the Secretary General of the UN.
