Children explore and research many historical cultures, people, time periods and events, from Ancient Greece to World War Two. They also learn the skills needed to analyse evidence from the past and to put historical events in order.
The children learn how to read maps and explore countries around the world as well as their own local area. They also learn about mountains and rivers and other natural phenomena.
RE – Religious Education
Our children learn about and learn from many religions. In particular, we believe that RE helps children to understand each other’s faiths and encourages tolerance. We follow the Tower Hamlets guidelines for RE, which teaches about the six main world faiths (Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hinduisim, Sikhism and Buddhism) with an emphasis on Christianity and Islam.
PSHE and Citizenship
We use the SEAL and Circle Time resources to explore emotions and relationships, teaching children how to deal with difficult situations and how to support and care for each other. The children also learn about the agencies and democratic structures in place in the UK and how they can contribute to society.
