Reading reading reading….
We all know that children who read at home make far more progress than those who don’t. They get all that extra attention from their favourite adult and they notch up the reading miles (20 minutes a day adds up to a whopping 58,400 minutes – almost 1000 hours – of extra reading over the course of primary school).
Please do make time to listen to your child read. Make it a nice time for the two of you to share, help them to tackle unknown words and guide them towards understanding new words or ideas. It will have a significant impact.
